Tony’s Top Ten Bowl Games to Watch

  • Post category:Articles

.The Las Vegas Bowl – 12/22 @ 8PM on ESPN Utah vs. Boise St. – This really could be one of the best bowl games of the season. Boise should obviously be in a BCS Bowl & should win but Utah is very good also.

.Poinsetta Bowl -12/23 @ 8PM on ESPN San Diego St. vs Navy – Navy’s option attack is always fun to watch but S.D. State will have extra time to prepare. I still think the Middies will win.

.The Independence Bowl -12/27 @ 5PM on ESPN2 Air Force vs Georgia Tech. Two of the best option coaches in football go at it. Air Force will be more diverse and give Tech’s D fits. The key for Tech is getting Anthony Allen the rock. I think the Falcons in a great game.

.Armed Forces Bowl – 12/30 @ Noon on ESPN SMU vs Army. – Hats off to the Cadets for getting in a bowl – a quick turn-around once they got back to option football, however June Jones is THE MASTER of the Shot Gun Run’N’Shoot which will prove to be too much for the Black Knights.

.Capital One Bowl -1/1/11 @ 1PM on ESPN Michigan St. vs Alabama Two great defensive coaches go at it in this game. The job that Mark Dantonio has done is amazing and Nick Saban is as good as there is. I have to go with the Spartans in a defensive battle.

.The Gator Bowl – 1/1/11 @ 1:30PM on ESPN2 Michigan vs Miss St. Dan Mullen did an outstanding job getting his team to a bowl. Rich Rod is one of the pioneers of the spread offense so it will be a very entertaining offensive game. A rested Denard Robinson might be too much for the Bulldogs.

.The Rose Bowl – 1/1/11 @ 4:30 on ABC Wisconsin vs TCU – A great game, perfect style matchup. Gary Patterson will play his 8 man Front D & load the box against the best O. line in college football. It will come down to TCU’s O vs the Badgers’ D. The Horned Frogs will prove they belong.

.The Orange Bowl – 1/3/11 @ 8PM on ESPN Stanford vs Virginia Tech. Jim Harbaugh’s Offense is explosive and will give the Hokies all they can handle but Tyrod Taylor can beat you a lot of ways. Excellent matchup but Stanford has too much “Luck” going for them.

.The Sugar Bowl – 1/4/11 @ 8pm on ESPN Ohio St. vs Arkansas. A sweet matchup in N’awlins. Bobby Petrino has turned around the Razorbacks as he did at Louisville – great pass attack. Jim Tressel is a proven winner with the most underrated QB on the planet. The Bucks will prevail in a good game.

.The BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – 1/10/11 @ 8PM on ESPN Auburn vs Oregon for all the marbles. Two great offensive schemes Chip Kelly is one f the brightest minds in the game and will spread the ball everywhere. Gus Malzahn certainly has one of the best players money can buy in Cam Newton but I think the super tempo the Ducks play at will give them the edge. A great way to finish the Bowl story.
