This week my mentor that we’re focusing is great coaching legend of The Florida A & M Rattlers, Jake Gaither All my mentors are featured in my book “Tony DeMeo’s .Triple Gun Offense: An Evolution of Option Football” A & M was a high scoring big play team. He had guys like Bob Hayes & Bob Paramore who faster than speeding bullets. As a young coach, I was intrigued to say the least. So I bought his book “The Split Line T” – it was the first football book I ever read. Coach Gaither had his Offensive Line take big splits to create SPACE for his speedy backs to bust through. So used big splits with an under center option attack. And Smart Splits were born. I picked up some up some split adjustments from Manny Matsakis that made the splits smarter.
